Iron Man forms incredible bond with Sebastian, boy battling terminal cancer

Sebastian and Iron Man have been friends since they met at the Buffalo Bisons Superhero Night in 2016. Since then, Iron Man has made an effort to stay in Sebastian's life, coming to visit him when he needs him the most.

Sebastian Bradley has been fighting brain cancer for a few years now and during this time, he’s met many people who wanted to make a difference in his life. One of those special people in particular was Iron Man.

“They met back in the summer of 2016 during the Buffalo Bison’s Superhero Night,” said Elizabeth Bradley, Sebastian’s mom. “Seba was still in a wheelchair because he couldn’t walk much yet since he was still taking steroids. He immediatetely bonded with Seba because he knew Seba’s favorite superhero is Iron Man. He contacted me (even though I wasn’t there, he found a way to find me.)”

Ever since that day, Iron Man has been coming to visit Sebastian. He lives in Canada and takes a two-hour drive just to see him smile. He even brings his friend, Batman.

“He’s always been caring to both Seba and his sister, Maiah,” said Elizabeth. “He always wants to cheer him on. He wanted Seba to be his special guest at the last Bison Superhero game, but Seba wasn’t able to make it so he FaceTimed him from the game with all the super heroes there.”

During summer, Iron Man came to see Sebastian who couldn’t wait to show him the superhero costume he made himself. And right after when Iron Man found out Sebastian’s condition worsened in November, he came right back to cheer the family up.

“Mark (Iron Man) and his family treat us like we are part of theirs and send us lots of good vibes,” said Elizabeth.

And that’s exactly what Iron Man did again yesterday when he heard Sebastian wasn’t doing well. Iron Man stopped by to visit Sebastian in his bedroom. Elizabeth said Sebastian couldn’t say much, but he knew Iron Man was coming.

“I think he tried to stay awake to see him,” she said.

A benefit will be held for Sebastian’s family Sunday, March 25 at Greek to Me Restaurant in Tonawanda. Details below.
