Meet the creator

Hello, everyone!

My name is Kimberly LaRussa and I am the creator of Sweet Buffalo.

What drove me to create such a website you might ask?

Well, being a writer in Buffalo, N.Y. you learn many things and that is that Buffalo is just about the coolest place you could ever live. No, it’s not a tropical vacation spot for tourists. You won’t see any palm trees or parrots around here, but what you will see is something so rare and unique that you wouldn’t want to call any other place home.

Buffalo is called the “City of Good Neighbors” for a reason.

I moved from Port St. Lucie, Florida to Buffalo ten years ago and whenever I tell anyone that they always ask me “Why would you do that?” As if moving from Florida to Buffalo is a step back.

I’ll tell you why I moved here.

I moved here because I get to see the changing of the seasons.

I moved here because I’m a short distance away from the rarest beauty in the world, Niagara Falls.

I moved here because I saw great opportunities for growth and success at both Niagara County Community College and Buffalo State College.

I moved here because I’ve never met so many giving and kind people in my life.

I moved here because Buffalo makes my heart happy and there’s no where else in the world I would rather be than here.

I’ve written many, many stories about the goodness of this great place that we call Western New York and I wanted to create this website to highlight even more of what Buffalo has to offer.

The people. The friends. The businesses. The nonprofits. The kindness. The generosity. The attractions. The happiness. The fun.

You name it and I want to share it.

I am by no means an expert on the history of Buffalo, N.Y. but what I am an expert on is the good things that go on in our community.

Let me help you showcase all of what Buffalo has to offer. Email and tell us your story.

I can’t wait to hear from you!
