Shemika Charles of Buffalo will be starring in The Disney Channel show “Bizzaardvark.” This is one of several amazing accomplishments the limbo star, singer, and dancer has to be proud of, so we wanted to hear more about what it means to her to represent Buffalo on a national level.
How excited are you to be featured on a Disney Channel show?
I am extremely excited to be on a Disney Channel show. I grew up watching some of my favorite shows on The Disney Channel and I absolutely LOVE kids, so this was the perfect opportunity to connect with my young fans.
What does it mean to you to be able to represent Buffalo, N.Y. on a national scale like you have with Disney, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Regis and Kelly?
It means the world to me to be able to represent my country, Trinidad & Tobago, and my hometown Buffalo N.Y. I grew up performing all around the Western New York area and I always received so much love and support from day one, so it feels great to be able to give back.
Did you ever think your limbo talent would bring you to such great heights? What advice would you give to other young woman who are hoping to make their dreams come true?
I always dreamed of being on television, traveling the world to share my talent, and keeping my culture alive. But to actually see my dreams coming true right before my eyes, is absolutely amazing. Never give up on your dreams because YOU can make even the most impossible things possible!
