Retired Army veteran, Officer Robert Nowakowski, did an incredible thing today. He walked into the SPCA of Niagara and offered a check of $50,000 to go toward a new heating system for the shelter’s dog kennels.
The SPCA posted their heartfelt gratitude on social media today.
“We knew our ventilation system needed a serious upgrade. After becoming no-kill in 2012, the number of dogs in our facility literally nonupled and the existing system just could not handle the air exchanges needed to bring enough fresh air into the building to push the stale air out. We had engineers come in and give us specs on a new rooftop unit and redesigned ductwork to move the stale air out and the clean air in. And finally, thanks to the generosity of Mr. Nowakowski, our dogs will have cleaner, healthier air! We are over the moon! His generosity will help serve thousands and thousands of animals in the coming years.”
Thank you, Mr. Nowakowski, for your service and for caring about our favorite animal shelter!
