Vogue Salon & Back Bar celebrates five years: ‘We are so grateful to our clients who have become our friends’

It’s been five years since Christine Conte took a chance on a salon she originally had no intention of owning.

“It was almost like fate,” said Conte. “I was passing by a salon with a ‘for rent’ sign and I thought maybe they were renting a chair, which I was interested in. But it turned out, they were interested in having someone rent the whole salon and it was then I decided to start a business on hope and a prayer.

And a wonderful prayer at that. Vogue Salon & Back Bar, located at 10158 Niagara Falls Blvd. is the go-to salon in Niagara Falls. Mainly because Conte and her staff treat clients like they are part of the family.

“I always say this is my house. My staff is my family and our clients are our friends. I try to stay humble in this industry because there are a million other people in this world and a ton of other salons and yet my clients choose us. I’m always grateful.”

Conte began her career in business in 2006. She says she did things backwards…first becoming an owner of a salon and then later becoming a stylist. She feels incredibly blessed to have gained the valuable knowledge and experience she has that has turned her salon into such a success.

“I’ve never been afraid to step outside of my comfort zone and try something new and I always encourage my staff to do the same. We all have our strengths and our weaknesses, but if we learn how to master our weakness, that’s what will make us great.”

Vogue Salon & Back Bar isn’t your typical salon. With 2,200 square feet of space, the salon is split into two sections. One side is the salon and the other is the day spa service.

“I was just joking with my landlord one day and said let’s tear down the wall, I need to build my empire. And to my surprise, he said OK, let’s do it.”

Vogue Salon features haircuts, coloring, highlights, low lights, Brazilian blowouts, hair extension applications, waxing services, conditioning treatments, up-do’s, special occasion hair styles and men’s hair cutting services. The day spa service features massages, facials, eyelash extensions, teeth whitening, spray tans, and more. The salon also has a large focus on weddings, traveling to brides as far as New Jersey.

“We travel everywhere,” said Conte. “There’s really not anywhere won’t go to accommodate a client on their special day.”

And you can expect a glass of wine or champagne while you wait at Vogue Salon. It’s just that fancy. For more information on Vogue Salon, call 716-297-1577 or visit the business on Facebook.

Chrissy has been my stylist for years. When she opened Vogue, I followed because there is no one I would rather go to. She treats hers clients with so much love and respect. My Mom also goes to Vogue and when her stylist recently left, she followed her. But in a very short amount of time, she made the decision to leave her stylist and come back to Vogue because they are so wonderful to their clients and make you feel like part of their family. The other salon did not. It was only about money and she felt very uncomfortable in their cold atmosphere. That is something that you will never experience at Vogue. Everyone there is kind, genuine, and friendly. And they’re all great stylists!! I recommend them to everyone I know. Try them. You will not be disappointed.
