We all know our children get excited when they open their Christmas gifts, but one little girl could not hold back her happiness after receiving the gift she truly wanted.
Giavanna Mahoney of Williamsville has been sending messages for two months by writing the word “hoverboard” everywhere.
“She left letters on her brother’s toys, her mermaid pillow, on notes to her elves, and on a letter ‘from her teacher’ that she wrote saying she thinks I should get her one. We knew it was Gia’s writing but it was hilarious. She didn’t give up,” Stacie Mahoney, mom.
So on Christmas Day when Giavanna opened up all of her presents and realized she did not get a hoverboard she was bummed, but didn’t complain.
But grandpa and grandma had another surprise up their sleeves. They went upstairs to get one last present and while Giavanna had a little bit of a hard time opening the box, once she realized what was inside she couldn’t hold back her emotion. She ran into her mother’s arms and started crying. The sweetest and most grateful reaction to a Christmas gift we’ve ever seen.
