A local wrestling coach recently made a beautiful tribute video in honor of Johnny Fielbelkorn, an Akron High School student whose life was taken far too soon.
“He was a wrestler on my team who I’ve coached for five years and he suddenly passed away in an accident this past summer before his senior year. Last night was senior night which he would have taken the mat a last time with his high school graduating class and teammates. I made the video to be shown during this meet because we inducted him into our Akron Wrestling Wall of Fame.”
Friends of Fiebelkorn said the tragedy was horrible for the whole school as the young man was a big part of the small community.
“Our school has a tradition of toilet papering the seniors houses on homecoming,” said Heather Adamczak, cheer coach at the school. “We asked his parents if we could do his house and they were so happy to still have him be a part of this.”
While Fiebelkorn will always be greatly missed, his memory will live on forever.
