Lizzie Agnello of Orchard Park was devastated to learn that the WNY branch of the nonprofit she worked for was closing its doors because it wasn’t just any nonprofit – it was one that allowed her to help children facing life-threatening illnesses. But instead of feeling sorry for herself, she decided to do something about it.
Agnello started the Brave Little Fighters Foundation and held her first outing with her favorite kids just a few weeks ago. At her former job, she was in charge of planning and executive events for families with children facing serious illness so she saw firsthand how meaningful a day of fun was for them. When she heard her office was closing, she just couldn’t leave the kids behind.
“This will allow me to continue to serve children with serious and terminal illness and their families here in WNY,” said Agnello.
The Brave Little Fighters Foundation strives to relieve the heartache, uncertainty and challenges faced by children who face serious and terminal illness and their families in Western New York through joyful and innovative events year round.
