During this extremely heartbreaking time in the City of Buffalo, many are trying to find ways to show their support for those affected by the Tops Market mass shooting. One of those being helped is 20-year-old Zaire Goodman who the community is about to shower with love for his upcoming birthday.
Kitty Hull was watching the news with her family when she learned about Zaire. Zaire is autistic and Kitty’s nephew is as well. She couldn’t imagine how scared Zaire was after being shot in the neck while working in the parking lot of Tops.
“I thought about my nephew and how he would have reacted. Zaire may be 20, but that’s young. He’s still a kid and he was at work. He will have a lot of challenges coming up and I knew I wanted to do something for him,” said Hull.
So Hull reached out to Zaire’s mom, Zeneta Everhart, who Hull said has a spirit like no other in the midst of such tragedy, to see what she could do. When she learned it was about to be Zaire’s birthday, Hull sprung into acting, rallying her friends & family to help make the day special for him. Zaire loves video games, Pokemon & anime, so Hull is purchasing items related to his interests to make him smile.
“Be A Blessing Buffalo is actually donating to get a new Nintendo Switch and Target gift cards for games. Zaire’s Nintendo Switch was left at Tops and he might never get it back. This is our way to let him know we are here for him and we care,” said Hull.
If you would like to make a donation to purchase gifts for Zaire, you may do so through Be A Blessing Buffalo here.
