A sad story that turned into a good one this week. A local man found a pit bull abandoned in the Love Canal area of Niagara Falls. The first thing he did was check the dog’s collar that read: “Can’t afford. Keep me.”
Augie Tolli took the lovable giant to his home and posted a photo of him on Facebook. The post was shared several times and the owner actually got in touch with Tolli and shared the dog’s story.
Tolli said the owners told him the dog was used as a bait dog in the past. They rescued him and kept him until they were losing their home. They said they tried to find him another home but were unsuccessful. That’s when Tolli decided to give him a home.
“I guess God has put him in his new home,” said Tolli in a Facebook post.
It is clear that this sweet boy found his angel to save him. Please, if you cannot afford your pet call your local shelters and animal rescues. There are plenty of rescues to help.
