Eight-month-old baby Eli is in need of the community’s support. He was recently diagnosed with leukemia. In one week he has been through several procedures to help make an accurate diagnosis and get rid of excess white blood cells. He received a dose of chemotherapy into his spinal canal and has been on high-dose steroids.
Eli’s parents, Hannah and Craig Gawlak, haven’t left Eli’s side. They have been rotating hospital shifts while caring for Eli’s 3-year-old brother at home. Eli will likely be admitted to Oishei Children’s Hospital for the next month while chemo gets started and likely for extended periods of time thereafter.
In the midst of all of this, Hannah has stepped away from her job as a critical care PA. Let’s lift this family up during Eli’s battle with acute infant leukemia. Hannah has helped save countless lives in critical care. Now it’s time to give back and help save their 8-month-old.
