Baby Sophia’s parents are living what every parent fears, a child facing a life-altering illness. The unknown is probably the most terrifying but the community is stepping up to support them.
Prior to a few weeks ago Sophia was exceeding her milestones. Then, in a blink, she stopped using her legs, and eventually began vomiting, and became lethargic. When the testing began at Children’s Hospital they discovered fluid on her brain and a tumor on her optic nerve. She had surgery to implant a shunt to drain the excess fluid.
Surgery went well but it will be a long road to go with chemo and she will need many more tests in the future, as well as occupational therapy and physical therapy to bring back her strength.
We ask that you keep Baby Sophia and her family in your hearts and prayers.
