What do three dogs, an owner, and a drive to a local groomer all have in common? Stress – which is exactly why Jennifer Seabert of Lockport decided to start her own mobile grooming business, Jen’s Mobile Paw Spa.
“I wanted to give my clients peace of mind in knowing that they can relax in the comfort of their own home while their dogs are being groomed and cared for right in their driveway,” said Seabert.
Seabert worked for PetSmart for 17 years, but had a desire to start her own business after visiting several mobile grooming expos. She says clients feel like they are just a number when they bring their dog to a corporate grooming salon, but with operating her own business, she’s able to have a personal connection with the dogs and their owners.
“Their dogs run right up to me as if they’ve known me forever and it really makes the owner feel comfortable,” said Seabert. “Clients aren’t just looking for the perfect groomer, they are looking for someone they can trust with their dog and someone who their dog trusts as well.”
Jen’s Mobile Paw Spa works with all breeds of dogs from large to small and is also experienced with dog allergies, offering special shampoos that take care of skin and coat issues. From nail trims to full haircuts, Sebert will make sure your pup comes back looking fresh and smelling clean.
“My clients are always extremely satisfied and tell me how great their dogs look when they come back and they are also impressed with how happy they are as well,” she said.
Seabert, who is certified in pet CPR and first aid, says working with dogs every day has been such a blessing for her and her family. Owning five dogs of their own, four of who are rescues, there’s no place she’d rather be.
“Dogs love you unconditionally. They don’t care what you look like or how much money you have. They just love you and that’s the type of personality I want to be around every day,” she said with a smile.
