Once upon a time Santa and his friends hopped on a Xmas trailer to bring Christmas joy to all.
Wait, what? Is this a children’s story?
Nope. It’s real life! The NT Xmas Trailer is back and this year it’s better than ever. Santa, the Grinch, a reindeer, a snowman, and other friends are traveling on various routes in North Tonawanda, singing songs and collecting canned goods for the NT Food Pantry.
The fun started on Dec. 1 at the NT Winter Walk, followed by Martinsville Caroling.
Here is the remaining schedule:
• Dec. 8 – Drake Elementary School at 5:30 p.m./Caroling from 6 to 9 p.m.
• Spruce Elementary School at 5:30 p.m./Caroling from 6 to 9 p.m.
• Ohio Elementary School at 5:30 p.m./Caroling from 6 to 9 p.m.
Jacob Brosius originally came up with the idea for the trailer and it grew from there. He recruited his loyal friends who have yet to give up each year.
“It is definitely a lot of work but the group of friends that we have spread it all out evenly. Everyone takes a task and works together,” said Brosius. “We talked about how much longer are we going to do this with our busy lives. We all concluded that giving up some personal time for the community is worth it. The reaction we get from kids, families, and even adults is one of the greatest feelings. We don’t want that to end. We’ll see hundreds of smiling faces, pointing at us each night through their front windows. I also need to comment on how amazing this community is. Over 10,000 items collected for our food pantry last year and on our way to surpassing that this year. The support is overwhelming.”
