Seventh grader sees classmate get picked on for his sneakers, uses allowance to get him a new pair

Buffalo seventh grader Romello “Mello” Early was tired of students picking on his classmate Melvin Anderson about his shoes.

Mello used his allowance and surprised Melvin with some new Nikes at school. Dean of Culture at Buffalo Creek Academy Charter School Bryant Brown Jr. heard about the kind gesture from Melvin and decided to take a photo of the two boys.

He posted the photo on social media and it went viral, even catching the attention of local nonprofit Candles In The S.U.N. who stopped by the boy’s school and made arrangements for them to see a Bills game with founder Dakarai Singletary.

Another nonprofit TeachAntiBullying.org gifted Mello some sneakers as part of the “Sneakers for Smiles” initiative for his good deed as well.

The outpouring of support and love and kindness for these boys has been incredible.

We at Sweet Buffalo wanted to see the boys smile too so thanks to our friends at Totally Buffalo Store, Sole High Sneakers and Niagara Nightmares we were able to give the boys an unforgettable surprise! Watch their reaction below!
