Residents, staff and guests at the NYS Veterans Home in Batavia enjoyed a speech presented by Staff Sergeant David G. Bellavia, Medal of Honor Recipient. Sergeant Bellavia spent time speaking individually with many veterans who served before him, patiently posed for photos, and shared his Medal of Honor with all in attendance.
Senior Wishes, a nonprofit organization that grants wishes to seniors, says they were humbled, and ever grateful, to have Sergeant Bellavia assist them in granting the wish to our local heroes. Service members from the community and were also invited to attend.
