Sweet Buffalo Rocks, a project that was designed to spread goodness in Western New York, has been named a finalist for the Awesome Buffalo grant.
Awesome Buffalo is a nonprofit organization that is part of the Awesome Foundation. Every quarter Awesome Buffalo awards a $1,000 grant to a project that adds a little more awesome to Buffalo. The Sweet Buffalo Rocks project will go up against four other projects at the Awesome Buffalo Pitch Night to be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 at The Washington Market in Buffalo. Each finalist will have 90 seconds to introduce their project, followed by audience questions and answers. The public is invited to attend the pitch night.
“I’m excited and nervous at the same time,” said Sweet Buffalo Rocks creator Kimberly LaRussa. “Whether my project wins or loses, this is sure to be an inspiring night.”
The concept of Sweet Buffalo Rocks is simple. Paint a rock. Hide a rock. Spread goodness. For more information on Sweet Buffalo Rocks, visit the Sweet Buffalo Rocks group on Facebook. The group currently has more than 1,700 members who are painting and hiding rocks all over Western New York.
