Bentley Michael Hayden of Buffalo is only 2 years old and fighting for his life. He was diagnosed in December 2016 with stage 4 neuroblastoma, a rare but serious cancer in children. During this time, Bentley’s mom was pregnant with her second child. While the family has endured many struggles, they continue to remain strong and positive for their superhero.
“Battling cancer is never easy, and when a child who hasn’t even began life is diagnosed with such a serious cancer words can’t explain the stress, pain and sadness this has brought,” said Jacqulyn Victoria Feliciano. “My nephew is the kindest, strongest 2-year-old I’ve ever seen. He is fighting so hard but doesn’t seem to catch a break.”
Feliciano says for the past two weeks, Bentley hasn’t been himself. He lays in bed all day; worn out, and exhausted. He has no interest in food and he has lost 22 pounds.
Bentley’s parents are out of work and have been since Bentley was diagnosed so they can remain by his side. Endless trips to hospitals in Buffalo, Rochester, and New York City, multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and the birth of their second child, Clayton, have taken a financial toll on the family; Feliciano is now reaching out to the community for donations via GoFundMe to help alleviate some of the expense.
“My sister doesn’t ask for anything, she is a wonderful mother and super strong and I want to help any way I can. I know my family wishes they could do much more for them but we only can do so much,” she said. “Please donate anything you can to help this little fighter.
