Matthew and Rachael Tremblay, along with their 5 kids (Gabriel 11, Christian 9, Blaise 8, Victoria 7, and Jude 4), are native Buffalonians who share a passion for serving their community and love of animals. Both Matthew and Rachael serve as volunteers for Blasdell Volunteer Fire Department, Matthew as the safety officer and Rachael as EMS Captain. They are also very active their church community of Our Mother of Good Counsel in Blasdell. When not involved in the fire hall or church, they strive to raise awareness and funds for Autism Spectrum Disorder as their son, Christian, is moderately autistic.
This past August, Matthew was diagnosed with Stage III Esophageal Cancer after doctors at Roswell found a 10 cm (4 inch) tumor in his esophagus. Matthew has a long road of treatments ahead of him that will culminate in surgery to remove a good portion of his esophagus. Matthew is the primary source of income for his family of 7 and will be out of work for a considerable amount of time. Friends and family have banded together to put on a benefit for the Tremblay family as they navigate through this difficult time. The organizers of this benefit are asking for the community to come together to help support this family that has given so much to others.
Join them for the benefit on Nov. 16 at the Barrel Factory. Tickets are $10 through email to tremblaybenefit@gmail.com. More info here: www.facebook.com/events/2151437264961469/?ti=icl
