Exciting news! The new baby rhino at The Buffalo Zoo has a new name, “Mohan!” The name was chosen out of four names and the WNY community was able to pick their favorite! Mohan won with 21,426 votes!
Mohan the one-horned rhino is absolutely adorable and the amazing part is he was actually created via artificial insemination! Mohan will help keep his species around as there are only 100 rhinos in zoos in North America and only 3,500 remaining in the wild.
Mohan was born at 123.5 pounds. Now that’s a baby!
