Evans police and fire department surprise boy battling cancer with parade in front of his house

Andrew Masse, a 12-year-old boy who has been battling cancer, was surprised by Evans police and fire departments with a parade in front of his house to celebrate his birthday.

It was a beautiful weekend of celebration for one local boy who has been battling cancer.

Andrew Masse, 12, of Derby, received an amazing present from Evans police and fire department to celebrate the big day in front of his entire neighborhood.

“I was told by a little bird to expect a visit, but not the huge turnout and parade they put together!” said Jennifer Masse, mom.

Andrew was having a pool party when the two departments came together to give him a surprise parade in front of his house. The kids all stood outside in excitement to check out what the fuss was all about as fire trucks and police cars drove by with their sirens on.

They let Andrew check out the fire trucks and go up the ladder and later gave Andrew and his friends a bunch of pool toys to enjoy!

His mom is so thankful to everyone who took the time to make her son’s birthday special.

“What a great birthday,” she said.

How sweet is that?
