In the end of 2020, the Gomez family received some tough news. Mario and Diane’s son Adrian Gomez was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk Aveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. It started with a small tumor in his left foot that spread to his lymph nodes and bone marrow. After the removal of tumor on his foot and his pinky toe and bone, he began an intense chemo treatment that will last for 42 weeks.
The bone marrow has since come back clean of the cancer cells, so the chemo is doing its job.
Adrian’s mom said he is strong and his spirits are still good through all the surgeries, scans, chemo treatment, blood and Platelet transfusions and everything else he has had to endure.
”We have our good days..and our bad days. We always move forward and remain positive and hopeful. We have a wonderful team of doctors that are making sure he is getting the best treatment, healing and love. However, the journey is far from over. This cancer likes to fight hard for its survival too. As parents it is a very hard thing to watch your child go through something where you can’t help, so each moment we wrap Adrian in love. We reach out to invite anyone who would like to…to send love and prayers to our little boy. For those that know and have been, we feel it so strong that is helps keep us strong. Thank you everyone for your support, love and thoughts.”
A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with medical expenses. So far more than $18,000 has been raised. You can donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/adrians-medical-care
