The Buffalo Zoo will soon be saying goodbye to one of its favorite reptiles, Guzman, a 16-year-old alligator who is moving to Florida.

The zoo says Guzman’s departure is part of the reptile and amphibian center renovation, which construction will take place on this summer.

“Although we are sad to say goodbye to Guzman, we know that he will truly enjoy the Florida sunshine,” said Malia Somerville, general curator. “We are also excited because we are one step closer to our reptile house renovation, which will bring many new species to our collection, including a Komodo dragon.”

Guests are invited to come say goodbye to Guzman before he leaves. The zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.buffalozoo.org.
