Senior Wishes, a nonprofit that is dedicated to giving senior citizens a wish come true, recently celebrated their 100th wish with an ice cream social for residents at People Inc. Burchfield Commons Senior Living in West Seneca.
It all started with Anderson’s Food Truck with staff coming on site to serve ice cream, followed by music performed by Jon Lorentz. The event was also held in honor of Older Americans Month.
Senior Wishes granted its first wish in 2014 and since then wishes have continued to grow in Erie and Niagara Counties. Wishes include tickets to Sabres games, a sleigh ride, airfare to see loved ones and relatives, and so much more.
“Senior Wishes was created to recognize that our aging seniors still have things they want to do, places they want to go, or people they want to see. We transform those dreams into a reality,” said Wendy Miller Backman, Senior Wishes Executive Director.
