A local family got quite the nice surprise today. While shopping at Walmart they met a sweet man at checkout who graciously paid for their groceries – just because!
Heres the story from Jenny Flynn of Tonawanda.
We were waiting in line at Walmart, myself, my kids, my mom, and my grandma. He walked up behind us and we noticed he was just buying gift cards so we offered to let him go ahead of us but he was very hesitant. He just kept saying “are you sure?” and I kept insisting, but he just said “I’ll think about it” and then he kept looking in our carts and just said “how about this, I’ll make a deal with ya…” and I jokingly said “you want my kids?” He laughed and said “Wow! You read my mind.” Then he continued to just stand with us and wait and carried on small talk with my mom and grandma. Then I saw him lean over and say something to my mom and that’s when I heard him say “put everything up there together and I am paying for it all.”
Flynn said the man, whose name is Michael, truly made their Christmas. Her mother echoed those sentiments.
“Merry Christmas, sweet Michael. You made my day and holiday brighter,” she said.
