Who created the Sweet Buffalo logo?

Talent is something that I sincerely appreciate, including the beautiful talent and resourcefulness of the young woman who created the Sweet Buffalo logo.

Talent is something that I sincerely appreciate, including the beautiful talent and resourcefulness of the young woman who created the Sweet Buffalo logo.

Her name is Marlee McCabe and she is a graphic designer for Niagara County Community College.

I was introduced to McCabe last summer when I needed help with creating a flyer for a woman named Nicole Blum. Nicole’s mother reached out to the community requesting birthday cards for her daughter’s big day as she had been bullied for most of her life. When I asked McCabe if she wanted to help, she graciously offered her assistance to create the most beautiful flyer I’d ever seen advocating for cards for Nicole. Her flyer was such a success that Nicole received more cards than she could have ever imagined.

“I love what I do, so if I can help others while doing it, I really don’t know what’s better than that,” said McCabe. “My goal is to create designs that will have a positive impact on others and to see the response from the flyer I created was awesome and I was so glad I could contribute to that.”

McCabe says what she loves most about being a graphic designer are the endless ways she can be creative. As a graphic designer for NCCC, McCabe creates everything from flyers to graduation designs, galas, and more.

Being a graphic designer entails a lot of hard work and sometimes late nights, but McCabe said she wouldn’t change it for the world. She loves being a part of a group, pitching ideas and seeing a great project come to fruition.

“You know you really love what you do when it doesn’t feel like work; because you truly enjoy it,” she said. “I also love bouncing off ideas with coworkers and friends because it’s not always one person’s job. It’s a group of people collaborating that brings out the best.”

McCabe is always accepting freelance work from those in need of a graphic designer.

“Whether it’s creating your brand, sending out a message, or raising awareness about a subject, there are things I can help with and I think there’s really an art to how it all comes together,” she said.

And by the looks of the Sweet Buffalo logo, I think she’s right.
