Eric Wood may not be able to play football anymore, but the impact he had on fans on and off the field will never be forgotten.
The Eric Wood Foundation– a foundation that Wood says he will continue even after retirement – is a nonprofit that has brought an incredible amount of joy to critically ill children in Western New York.
“My son, Simon, was the recipient of Eric’s generosity. When he was ill, Eric treated him to an awesome night – dinner with some Buffalo Bills and a limousine ride to Target with a surprise shopping spree! Eric has a heart of gold,” said Janet Krywcun whose son is a brain tumor survivor.
“We’ve hung out with him several times where he was so sweet to these super sick kids and the smile on his face the entire event(s) was like Christmas morning to him. We can’t thank him enough for accepting his position with the Buffalo Bills for his career and choosing to do more. We love him dearly,” said Jen Pilarski Usiak whose daughter, Stella, is battling cancer.
A few Western New York children were so grateful for Wood’s kindness at a time they needed it most that they wanted to say thank you at a time he needed it most.
