$40,000 raised for The Teacher’s Desk to make Pancho Billa’s wishes come true

Pancho Billa’s wish to help kids is coming true. More than $40,000 has been raised for The Teacher’s Desk to give 4,000 kids in WNY new backpacks and supplies for school.

This week was a sad one when we all learned of the passing of Ezra Castro, AKA “Pancho Billa,” a man with a beautiful soul who captured hearts nationally as the kindest and most loyal Buffalo Bills fan. Now, Bills fans want to give back to him.

Pancho Billa said he didn’t care about flowers. He wanted to make sure all kids had school supplies and backpacks to take to school, so Del Reid, founder of 26 Shirts, partnered with The Teacher’s Desk in Buffalo, to raise funds for the organization in honor of Pancho Billa. Each $10 donation will give students in need in WNY a backpack filled with $100 of school supplies and now 4,000 kids will receive a backpack in his memory.
