A Frenchie with a grade 5 heart murmur and septal defect which will need lifesaving surgery. A blind and deaf doxie. A puppy whose mom probably chewed off his tail from stress. These are just a few of the 58 animals saved from a puppy mill in Ohio this week.
Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue became aware of the puppy mill in Holmes County when they assisted the Erie County SPCA. Now the puppy mill calls Buffalo Pugs directly when they cannot sell their puppies or the adults are no longer profitable. Working with the Puppy Mill Rescue Team, their mission this week to save 58 unwanted dogs was a success. The dogs will now receive the veterinary care they need and be well taken care of until they are well and able to go to forever homes.
