Today was an emotional day for Western New Yorkers as we said goodbye to an amazing hero, Buffalo Police Officer Craig Lehner. Rick Warne, a local photographer, was able to capture the somber farewell at Forest Lawn Cemetery today.
Here he shares the experience.
“The photos capture the pouring of sadness and then the feeling of unity within the police force. The amount of people who turned out was amazing. At one point Shield went to his coffin and put his paw on it. It was heartbreaking. So many beautiful things happened, so much love, and the white doves were so powerful.”
