According to family and friends, Officer Craig Lehner and his partner, Shield, were the very best of friends. He even bought a house in the country so his partner could have more room to run and have fun.
“His love for his partner, Shield, was amazing,” said Heather Adamczak, friend. “He was a very important part of his life.”
Officer Lehner and his partner did everything together. Lehner once told a photographer that he doesn’t get lonely because he has his dog.
So while the City of Buffalo was silent today as thousands of people lined up and Officer Lehner’s casket was carried into Key Bank Center for his funeral, Shield was not. His cries for his best friend were absolutely heart-wrenching. He knew exactly what was going on and his sincere love and heartbreak for his partner could not be more clear.
