We recently told you about Elizabeth Restey, a young mom to two little ones who is battling leukemia for the second time. She was in need of platelet donations and you guys shared her story and offered to help by showering her with an overwhelming amount of love and support.
Now Restey has some good news to share with all of you!
“I am happy to announce that we got news this morning. They found a backup donor and he agreed! I’m going to get a transplant! And the best part is I don’t get admitted until after Christmas!”
Restey says lack of platelets is a big reason why her bone marrow transplant kept getting cancelled. Her new transplant date is Dec. 30, so she gets to spend Christmas with her family.
“Hopefully my youngest son will be home for Christmas, too, but he was only a pound and a half at birth, so it’s hard to predict when he’ll make the improvements to come home.”
Not only is this amazing woman an incredible inspiration to others as she fights leukemia with a positive attitude, she’s also an incredible mother to her two children. As can be imagined, Restey is unable to work so a GoFundMe page has been set up to help her and her family at this difficult time: https://www.gofundme.com/love-for-liz-and-her-boys?pc=fb_u_g&rcid=r01-151130825221-59023ed3bfd84c67
