Liam Lynch is a Niagara Wheatfield boy who loves Legos, video games, soccer, camping, swimming and the Buffalo Bills!
He’s such a superfan, in fact, that Josh Allen had the 10-year-old’s name on his cleats – along with other children battling cancer.
Liam already went through cancer a few years back. He’s been doing great, went into remission and even rang the bell at Roswell Park.
He was getting back to life, getting back to school and getting back to soccer. His family was hopeful that his cancer was behind him. Sadly, that is not the case.
A few weeks ago, Liam had a stomach ache which led to a new diagnosis – an even more aggressive form of cancer. Liam has T-Cell ALL – Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He is currently in Oishei Children’s Hospital with his mom by his side. He completed 30 days of chemo but he needs more because his bone marrow still has leukemia in it.
It’s hoped that Liam will be ready for a bone marrow transplant next month.
ConnectLife had a blood drive at his school recently that was a huge success. Totally Buffalo Cares told Liam’s mom and dad that they wanted to have them on the Sweet Buffalo segment on News 4 to talk about that blood drive and the importance of donating blood locally for kids like Liam. Liam has been wishing for a hot tub! His mom says he talks about it all the time. Totally Buffalo Cares raised $3,200 and their friend Tim Bunch from Majestic Pools is pitching in the rest for a gorgeous hot tub – installed!
