This will blow your mind! A local bride recently asked her husband to make her wedding dress and while he was hesistant at first, he gladly accepted the challenge – and in only 15 days!
“We went back and forth on it a little bit. I have been making all kinds of things for years, mainly puppets. I have made a few outfits for her in the past, but nothing this intricate. Starting 15 days before the wedding was not the plan. I kept having to push back my starting the dress because things kept coming up and because I didn’t have a design in mind,” said Adam Kreutiger of Williamsville.
Adam and his wife, Maria Kreutiger (Droz), were both born and raised in WNY. He’s an art teacher in Orchard Park schools and she just finished her teaching degree last week. They’ve been together for 15 years – starting when they were freshman in high school. Needless to say their love has grown over the years, so much that Maria trusted Adam with making her a surprise wedding dress!
Adam made a YouTube video that has close to 7,000 views showing the process of how he made the dress. His wife’s reaction is priceless as she smiles from ear to ear when she opens her eyes.
“I was very relieved when I saw her reaction. I knew she wouldn’t hate it, but I really wasn’t sure how much she would like it. Up until that moment, she had not seen it at all. That’s why I had the idea to make the video and record the making of her dress. Since she wanted it to be a surprise, I wanted a way to share the process with her. In my opinion, the process is what makes that kind of gift special.”
Since he uploaded the video he’s received fantastic feedback from those who enjoyed watching the surprise.
“I think it’s great that people seem interested in the story. Lately, there seems to be a lot of negativity and politics in the news everywhere. So if seeing this makes someone smile or makes them look back on the memories of there own wedding, then that’s awesome.”
