Kelsie Skinner, 19, recently received a birthday surprise from her mother of tickets to see Bruno Mars in concert and the video of her more than happy reaction is going viral!
Kelsie’s mom, Allison, says the video, which was posted April 4 on Facebook, has already had more than 200,000 views and counting. It was even shared by Kiss 98.5’s Janet Snyder and talked about on the radio!
“I got an overwhelming amount of nice comments on the video and every comment was very sweet. Kelsie sat at home with me and read them all,” said Allison.
When asked if she was surprised by her daughter’s excited reaction, Allison said no, because her daughter is always sweet and appreciative. She even tells her mom “I love you” in the video.
“Her positive attitude and love for life is so inspiring and contagious. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and thoughtfulness of the many people that have seen and shared Kelsie’s surprise birthday video, but I wouldn’t expect any less from the wonderful people in our Western New York community.”
Kelsie has cerebral palsy and attends Kenmore East High School, but her mom says her disability has never stopped her from being who she is. She has a love for music, especially Bruno Mars’, who Kelsie says tells her to be herself and love herself for who she is.
“She does make the most of life that’s for sure. There are lots of challenges with cerebral palsy and she has an attitude that’s really special,” said Allison.
