We are so excited for our friends at the Buffalo Zoo! They reached an all-time high attendance rate of 538,100 visitors for 2016 and while it may be a surprise to some, it’s no surprise to us because we already know how amazing the zoo is!
The Buffalo Zoo says they owe the high rate of attendance to the birth of many new animals, including the first African Lion cubs born in 25 years! Yes, they are adorable and yes, we all want to see them!
They also said their new Arctic Edge exhibit, great Buffalo weather, and unique marketing initiatives contributed to the fantastic attendance.
This is the highest attendance for the zoo since 1987.

“2016 was a great year for the zoo” said president and CEO Donna Fernandes. “We were very excited to announce our many animal births with the community. I’d like to thank our incredibly dedicated staff and all those zoo visitors for making this a milestone year.”
