Every year Cellino Plumbing Heating & Cooling runs a truck wrap contest for nonprofits in the community. The contest mimics the March Madness bracket. Nonprofit organizations are nominated for the contest and then added to a voting bracket where they go head-to-head with competing organizations. The community can participate and vote on the bracket throughout the entirety of the contest.
This year two animal rescue organizations Ten Lives Club and Buddy’s Second Chance made it to the finals and when the votes from the Cellino team were counted, they were so close that they asked the nonprofits if they’d like to split the truck to help both dogs and cats this year, a first ever for the contest.
The organizations of course agreed to the split. One side of the truck is Ten Lives Club and the other is Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue. A donation will be made to both organizations every month from a portion of the sales from the truck.
“We at Ten Lives Club and Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue are so incredibly grateful to Cellino Plumbing for this opportunity that is like no other. Now everyone on the road will get to see our two rescue organizations and hopefully help even more animals find their forever homes,” said Kimberly LaRussa of Ten Lives Club and Julie Starr of Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue.
Previous winners include Wings Flights of Hope, Animal Food Bank of WNY, Autism Nature Trail and GiGi’s Playhouse.
“We will continue to run the truck wrap contest until we find a more engaging, competitive, and successful way to help raise awareness for nonprofits that support our community,” said Lucas Cellino, President of Cellino Plumbing.
