Mayor Brown posthumously promoted fallen Officer Craig Lehner to lieutenant at his State of the City address as the entire audience stood up to cheer.
“Our Buffalo Police Department and our city will never forget Officer Lehner’s outstanding service as a Buffalo Police K9 Officer and as a member of the underwater rescue and recovery.
Shield also has a new partner in the Buffalo Police Department and in May, the city will officially rename the Buffalo Police K9 Training Facility on Louisiana Street in memory of Lieutenant Lehner.
“The facility has undergone significant interior and exterior upgrades thanks to a generous donation from the Home Depot Foundation and the hard work of women in leadership, Team Depot, who have been transforming the site into a state of the art K9 training facility.”
