We were so excited when we recently saw a photo of North Tonawanda resident Ryan Sumi smiling with none other than country music superstar Carrie Underwood!
Sumi met Underwood at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn. three days ago. He’s part of her fan club and was invited to attend her fan club party there.
“She’s beautiful,” said Sumi. “She’s very sweet and shy, but so am I.”
But this isn’t the first time Sumi met Underwood. He was granted a wish by Make-A-Wish WNY to meet her in 2007. Sumi was diagnosed with spina bifida when he was born. He had to have major spine/back surgery and meeting Underwood when he was 15 years old was just the cheering up he needed.
“I love her music and I just love her,” he said.
