Local man dedicated his life to helping others and now you can do something nice in memory of him

Kevin Przybyl of Lancaster dedicated his life to helping others. He was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth, but it never stopped him from serving his community or pursuing his dreams.

Kevin Przybyl of Lancaster dedicated his life to helping others. He was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth, but it never stopped him from serving his community or pursuing his dreams.

Przybyl, a loving father and husband, became one of the youngest paramedics in New York State. He volunteered as a firefighter and worked as a 9-1-1 dispatcher. He is also a former Mercy Flight WNY employee and a member of the Bowmansville Volunteer Fire Company.

The man who gave back to so many was lucky to receive an organ transplant in 2013 after his health was deteriorating, but sadly this February he contracted an infection and passed away. Family, friends, and those who worked with him will never forget him, which is why they are asking for the community’s help.

The Holiday Hero Blood Drive in honor of Przybyl will be held noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 at Mercy Flight, 100 Amherst Villa Road, Buffalo. Mercy Flight’s goal is to get 100 people to donate blood in honor of Przybyl’s commitment to saving lives. His wife and son will also be at the drive to thank those who attend.

All donors will receive a Holiday Heroes T-shirt and will be entered in a drawing to win a pair of Buffalo Sabres tickets.

To schedule an appointment, call 716-512-7940 or visit  www.unytsblooddonor.org.
