Since a week before Thanksgiving my stomach has been in knots – that’s when my 2-year-old son Bentley’s symptoms started.
After numerous hospital trips, doctor’s appointments and urgent care visits and still no answers. In just three days it will be one year since we heard the words no parent should have to hear.
“We found what has been making Bentley sick. We found a tumor on Bentley’s adrenal gland… it is cancer.”
I just looked at my baby. This can’t be real.
Fast forward a year. Ten rounds of chemo, five line infections (which one we almost lost Bent to), two major tumor resection surgeries, five and still going of immune body and 14 cycles of radiation.
On Oct. 27 2017, Bentley finally had clear scans.
This year I am so so blessed and happy. I cherish Bent every day and he will know every day how important he is to me. He’s such an amazing little boy and absolutely loves being a big brother.
