A local nonprofit is going above and beyond to see that children in foster care feel a little less displaced.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, Luggage with Hope of WNY is hosting a luggage distribution drive at 2784 Seneca St., Buffalo for local foster parents to attend. The nonprofit has been collecting luggage from the community for months after seeing a great need for it. Often times, foster children are placed into a home with only the clothes on their backs and a plastic grocery bag. When it’s time for them to go to their next home, foster parents have nothing to give the child to put their belongings in. To make a difference, Luggage with Hope of WNY was born.
Volunteers will be happy to supply your foster children with a piece of luggage to call their own. They will also have backpacks, duffel bags, and diaper bags. For more information, call 716-712-4791 or email luggagewithhopeofwny@gmail.com, or visit www.luggagewithhopewny.com.
