For the past six years, Cellino Plumbing, Heating & Cooling has held an annual truck wrap contest where Western New York nonprofits have a chance to have their branding displayed on a Cellino Plumbing truck that gives back to their organization throughout the year.
The 2022 winners were Ten Lives Club and Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue who decided to split the win (a first time in the contest’s history) and had each animal rescue featured prominently on the truck. So far Ten Lives Club and Buddy’s received $20,000 each from 50% of all tuneup revenue throughout the year.
“Every step of the way was enjoyable! We were included in all the decision-making for the truck wrap to include some of our dogs in our foster care. The money raised has made it possible for us to save more pooches on death row, cover their vet bills and provide them with supplies in their foster homes,” said Julie Starr of Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue.
Now Cellino Plumbing is looking for the next nonprofit to win in 2023. Nominations for 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Western New York start today and end Monday, Feb. 27. The voting bracket starts Wednesday, March 1.
The Cellino Plumbing Truck Wrap mimics March basketball tournaments. Sixty-four nonprofits with the most votes will be added to a voting bracket where they will go head-to-head with competing organizations.
The community can participate and vote on the bracket throughout the entirety of the contest. The winner of the truck-wrap then has the opportunity to create a design that will be co-branded on one of the trucks in the Cellino fleet.
This year $25 will be donated from every furnace or AC tuneup completed from the truck to the winning nonprofit organization.
