The North Tonawanda Police Benevolent Association (NTPBA) will be hosting its annual “Shop With A Cop” even on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
The event will take place at Walmart, 886 Niagara Falls Blvd., in North Tonawanda and starts at 10 a.m. Shop With A Cop continues to grow each year and this year the NTPBA expects to help up to 200 North Tonawanda families.
Police officers will take families shopping for clothing and toys to help those in need before the holidays. Thousands of kids have been helped and shopped for over the years through this special program.
Shop With A Cop is one of several community events the police union sponsors each year to include the North Tonawanda graduating senior class picnic, the Memorial Pool Summer Classic basketball tournament, and yearly school supply shopping. The NTPBA also awards four yearly scholarships to graduating seniors enrolling in college.
The NTPBA expects to buy clothing and toys for up to 400 children on Nov. 11. Both NTPD K9s will be at the event, Remi the therapy dog and K9 Stella.
