Open houses. People come in, people go out. They serve a purpose of selling a home to potential buyers, but what if that space could be used to give back to the community? Well, it can and John Gatas of the Gatas Team at Keller Williams Realty is making sure of it by hosting “Open Houses for a Cause.”
“I was at a open house one day and I thought to myself, ‘There has to be a way to make this more lively. This space is open and not being used for a few hours, so why don’t we use it to give back to the community?’’”
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1 and 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2, Gatas will be showing his listing at 160 Stratford Road, Buffalo with a twist. Magic’s Mission Beagle and Hound Rescue will be bringing two dogs to hopefully find loving homes for and Brian Belcer from Guaranteed Rate will be cooking up free hot dogs for guests. The event has already raised $60 for the nonprofit organization via Facebook and Gatas hopes they raise more at the weekend open houses.
