Tow truck companies, first responders to ‘Light Up The Night’ for healthcare workers

In act of solidarity and appreciation, WNY tow truck companies and first responders will be showing their love for medical personnel on the front lines by “Lighting Up The Night.”

Joseph Asciutto of Rusiniak’s Towing, and Al Montgomery with Montgomery Towing organized “Light Up the Night Buffalo” taking place on April 24 @ 7:30 p.m. to honor our local healthcare workers.

So far there are 15 police agencies, 20 fire departments and 23 towing companies including Mercy Flight WNY on ground and in the air (weather permitting) for the Light The Night event.

They will be meeting and staging at the Walden Galleria Mall at 6pm and traveling past the following hospitals:

Saint Joseph’s,
Sisters Hospital,
ECMC
Oishei Children’s Hospital
Millard-Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital
Roswell Park Comprehensive Care Center

A complete list of vehicles entered and parade route is soon to follow.

The procession is limited to first responders and tow trucks. If you’d like to get involved, contact Joe Asciutto at 474-3012.

Organizers are asking everyone involved, including spectators to abide by social distancing guidelines.

This event is particulary special,” said Gina Bellreng. “Tow truck drivers are usually the forgotten first responders and essential workers. They spend countless hours raising awareness for their safety and when given the opportunity to honor themselves, they choose to honor healthcare workers. It shows what kind of character they have and to this healthcare worker…it means a lot.”
