Heather Adamczak was a close friend of Craig Lehner and knew him before he was an officer.
“I’ve known Craig since high school. He was a good man. He served his country and my kids and I sent him a few packages over while he was deployed. The last four to five years we kept in touch on social media and he recently was very helpful to me to help me get my health on track,” she said.
As can be imagined, she was devastated when she heard of his passing.
“He told me he had bought a house in the country for his partner Shield so he could run and have more room. His love for his partner Shield was amazing. He was a very important part of his life. When I heard he went missing my heart stopped, just like the rest of us who knew him. I started going through pictures of him and praying for him to be safe. He’s touched many lives. I was touched by his kindness and and felt so badly for his sister, Donna, who I went to school with. When he was finally found I made the video so everyone else could see what a wonderful man and officer he was.”
The beautiful tribute to her friend with photos of what kind of man he was has since gone viral. Adamczak said it was important for her to show the world who her friend really was.
