Today is an amazing day for one amazing young woman. We first told you the story of Diana Donnarumma and her invisible illness. Diana has a rare autoimmune disorder and was in need of a transplant as soon as possible to help her regain her quality of life. Although it was hard, Diana never once gave up hope. We are happy to share that she is now in D.C. awaiting her transplant.
“Around 9 p.m. I received a call from Georgetown saying that they have found a match and donor organs for me. I immediately was able to call Wings Flights of Hope who could get me to the hospital in an incredibly timely manner. Joe, the pilot, was so sweet and compassionate.
I am going through a whirlwind of emotions, but I’m excited to begin this new chapter in my life.
This is very much a bittersweet moment. Please pray for the donor’s family because they have lost someone dear that they love. Please pray for my family that we have the strength to continue fighting. Pray for the surgeons that they may help me to their full ability and pray that there will be no unforeseen complications during and after the operation!”
