Robert Grant, aka O’Mega Red, is intent on using music to show some #buffalove to a community shaken by racism and violence. He’s pledging to donate proceeds from Mighty Mystic’s album release party on June 17 at the Rec Room to the Buffalo Together Fund and Hope Rises, two organizations that are aiding Buffalo’s East Side residents recover from a mass shooting on May 14 that killed 10 people.
“It’s something I wish in my heart wasn’t necessary, but am grateful to have the resources to help,” said Grant, founder of WNY Merchant Consulting.
Grant and Mighty Mystic have known each other since growing up in the Boston, Mass. area and also collaborated on various music ventures throughout the years. Mighty Mystic will be performing music from his new album, entitled “Giant,” which debuted in March 2022 at #2 on the iTunes and #4 on Billboard charts, and according to his website, “has been racking up sales, streams, awards and high accolades” ever since.
“I originally wanted to host this event to underscore music’s ability to unite us in peace and love,” said Grant, “and in the most unfortunate turn of events possible, we’re reminded now, more than ever, how the community needs to come together and heal. Music can play an integral part in that.”
Mighty Mystic’s “Giant” Album Release Party w/ proceeds benefitting the Buffalo Together Fund & Hope Rises will be held at 6 p.m. tonight June 17 at the Rec Room, 79 West Chippewa Street in Buffalo, with special guests DJ Milk & Universal. Must be 21 and older.
