A local dog rescue is trying to help one of their own. The Silver Lining For Pit Bulls, Inc. recently received news that a West Seneca family who rescued one of their pups, Mirage, is in need of help to keep her. They were given a 30-day notice to vacate the apartment they’ve lived in for years (the house was selling) and now finding another apartment that will accept a pit bull breed has become difficult. But instead of leaving Mirage behind, the family has been staying in dog friendly motels.
“We think it’s so very special that even though this family ‘could’ have rehomed Mirage during this cruddy time for them, they didn’t. They kept this little girl, who no one else wanted, and have used their last dollar to be able to stay in a hotel that is dog friendly,” said Amiee Schultz, who works closely with the rescue.
The family has found an apartment that will accept Mirage, but because of her breed, the cost to move in is very high. They are in need of financial assistance before June 27 or they will lose the chance to have a new home. The rescue has created a GoFundMe page to help with expenses.
